Typhoon Ondoy is a typhoon tragedy that hit Metro Manila and other neighboring cities of the Region. This happening is not just an ordinary typhoon because it ruins thousands of properties and hundreds of deaths to some of the Filipino residents in Manila.

Who’s to blame?

With the wrath of the typhoon, we always think why is this happening? Who’s to blame and responsible for this? I think the only person to blame will be our selves because of our way of life, the way we manage our discipline for nature, the way how we neglected the care for the environment. I believe that some people care for the Mother Nature but most of us just don’t care for it, and so, the effect has just happened. The unstoppable floods spread over the resident houses, slum areas and subdivisions in Metro Manila. With this adversity, we cannot sense the level of life, there is no more rich and poor when in the midst of survival and crisis.

Learning and a Challenge

As a Filipino, I think, we will set this as our learning and we will still thank God that he give us the chance to rebuild and renew what we lack to do our part for our mother earth. This is our challenge to reflect, plan and execute what are the best things to do not just for our own self but for others too.

Government and Everyone’s Role

I hope the government will also initiate the change for the good of everyone and nature, not just to ride with the change for personal fame and interest. I hope, all Filipinos will contribute how we can improve the Philippines and instill in the minds of everyone the beauty of the Philippines if we care about it.

Some Steps

Metro Manila is already very crowded in terms of population. Filipinos should spread all over the Philippines and start to develop the provinces. Manage the 3 major Philippine groups of islands the Luzon, the Visayas and Mindanao. Mindanao should stop from fighting each other between Christians and Muslims where Muslims fight for their right to claim Mindanao as a separate entity of the Philippines. Let’s start to stop that right and way thinking, this is the time to be united.

Let’s help each other now, let’s rebuild what we lost and learn from things we cannot do anything but move on.

The common and future disasters of the Philippines

We as individual Filipino citizens should promote how we can prevent and defend ourselves in times of calamities and future disasters that will strike our country in any time. The common and future disasters that we should be prepared at anytime are the strong typhoons, land slides, floods, earth quake and possible tidal waves.

How do we prepare for it, I think preparations and solutions are not done with just a blink of an eye. It will change from generations to generations therefore; it will start from our selves and how we discipline our selves to do things according to our conscience. Our conscience and wisdom will instruct us that we are doing the things right.

God’s commandment

God said “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind'; and, 'Love your neighbor as yourself.”

We should love God and all his creations such as our Mother Nature and human nature as our neighbor which simply reflects by loving our self.

Investment on Computerization for the Welfare of the Community

Many People say that Prevention is better than Cure but how do we prevent crimes in society today? Today, crimes are very rampant with regards to killing, rape, disunity and misunderstanding between Christians and Muslims, kidnapping and many more. Only that crime will stop if Manny Pacquiao had a fight. But we cannot just let this to go on. I think we need to prevent this from their occurrences by doing some Prevention through Computerization. Wherein, I believe, they can be stated on the following solutions.

Webcam installation to all parts of the Philippines particularly in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. I think the government should also invest on webcams installed in some critical parts of the Philippines which are computer controlled webcams in order to monitor crimes and monitor anything that a person fails to act in accordance with the law.

Centralized Police Assistance or Emergency Assistance Telephone just like the 911 of America, maybe we can make it 811. Even me, I cannot memorize what emergency number to call because we have different numbers for police and emergency number to call an ambulance. It will take time for us to find on the telephone directory to search the emergency numbers. Instead, we can right away call for assistance if only we have one number to think for emergency.

Street Police Visibility with online computer to check violators records, I think this solution will help prevent crime and also police should be in a patrol car in order to easily respond to crime scenes just like in America.

Computerized Election Poll System for Fair Voting, Through secure and computerized Election, I believe that we can have a fair voting and at the same time, we can have a legitimate and qualified result to our government’s official which we should live up with our future and the good of our country. Good governance working hand in hand will surely put the good life to our country men and the good future of the youth.

National ID System for everyone’s centralized identification and easy traceability of fraud. I think a National ID System can also have benefits for easy tracking of individual and useful for documents’ speed processing. We can use it when riding a train or bus or checking in the hotel. However, the downside of national id system is fraud and stealing of information, fake ids and a lot more. But this can be an interim solution of our nationalism and identity. Eventually, as this will be matured, this can be upgraded using the biometric fingerprint.

National Defense Bureau to handle Computer Security, Computerized and Secured Control of all the said Solutions. Maybe, we should go into automation in order to simplify our way of living. With great and truthful support from the government, I believe this will be materialized.

Therefore, an Investment on Computerization for the Welfare of the Community is a great asset for us. It benefits us from achieving a secured life; it helps keep peace and order of the community. With computerization, we have a greater assurance of real time and reliability of information. Therefore, a reliable decision to instill for individuals will be fair and just.

The Logic of a Peaceful World

The World consists of many leaders, presidents, prime ministers and a lot more. Peace in the World can be acquired based from how leaders executed and implemented among their areas of responsibility.

I chose United States of America to rule the World due to its strengthened Constitution as well as the implementation of Democracy. I say this because we, from different places in the Globe need a country to rule in order that we can have peace. If America will fall down, many places will start to rule, to dominate through their economy and that will cause war due to conflicts and misunderstanding.

It is a simplified logic that we need one ruler to unify the group and America is the country capable and reliable to be the ruler through its proven influence and the gateway to connect everything in the globe. It can be not the people of America but the strong and simplified Constitution that is publicly beneficial and fair to the whole world and the community that American has.

The World is just as simple as a Family where there should be a head of the family to rule because if the ruler does not rule well. There will be a possibility that unexpected behavior and abusive reflection will be shown by some of the family members.

As of today, since we already know that USA is I believe the primary role model to be the qualified ruler in the World but currently, since the US economy slows down, look what happened to the World, everyone is affected by it, therefore, we as the dependents living in the third world country must also contribute for peace. Even in a little ways, we can be part on the foundation of the economy to make it stand firm again. I believe that USA will again remain strong. The world needs you for keeping the peace and resolves the conflicts between countries or even continents. What is today will be what the youth will reap tomorrow. The future of today’s children lies from what our leader’s actions and implications for the influences of the young.

Computers are very important in today's economic development. It gives an important role of professional life. Company employees can no longer be effective without the use of computer. Students use computer to guide and help them improve their research studies, school works and school projects. Big business establishments use computers to help them track and monitor financial status and performance of their businesses. They can have effective decision making through computer generated financial reports and supporting average status of financial performance.

However, computers have also disadvantages on the following.

Students got addicted to Computer Games
Most students or mostly teenagers or even children are already too hooked up on the computers games, they devote most of their time to playing games. And also, in urban schools, students tend to cut classes just to play computer games. During classes, they even not listen to the teachers because their minds are on the strategies to the game they are going to play.

Exposed Personal Data on the Internet due to Computer Viruses
Sometimes, it is very uncontrollable that our data will be exposed on the internet due to computer viruses. Due to these computer viruses or computer worms, our personal data or personal email information will be exposed that's why we should have an antivirus, anti-malware, anti-spyware, and firewall installed on our computer to protect our computer from the malicious computer viruses which tends to hack and destroy our computer files or processes. With regards to email information, we should be keen on answering emails specially if it is a spam mail because sometimes, if we can answer a spam mail, our email will be exposed on the internet or depends on how the spam is executed by the spammer.

Today, Internet defaults can access mostly all sites without blocking security or firewall. Therefore, in this case, children can easily access p0rn internet materials which can influence them and lead them to early personal relationships.

Enumerating these disadvantages, we cannot still afford to lose or face out the computers because in terms of company operations, manufacturing, productions of supply are all dependents on computers. Manufacturing Companies cannot produce massive productions without the control of computers especially those goods today are already processed specially the canned goods. Office clerical works are already dependent on computers to generate on-time reports for management decisions and reviews of the company performance. Therefore, computer can ease our life, can give us entertainment and specially help us on our basic needs. So, I can say that computer's effects and influences depend on how it is being used and applied in our daily life.

Inventions and Technology can help prosper our Lives

Human lives are already evidently dependent from the human inventions. Some people today if without the use of computers, they can no longer work productively and effectively. Hospitals are using unimaginable technologies to help them diagnosed their patients. If the Community today cannot cope up with technology and cannot base their livelihood and lifestyle with Technology, they will be behind from information and productivity. Ships without the use of radar or any navigational equipment, they would surely be lost in the middle of wide oceans. Company employees aren’t productive without the use of computers and its useful applications built in to the computers.

Through creative and good inventions, it can help prosper our lives by providing us the best possible output that is inline with our needs. We can invent alternatives for fuel replacements, we can invent a flying car, we can invent auto translator. We can invent something that helps protect the lives of the people, Invent something helpful that can aid people from producing products. As people grow, new inventions will also grow. As long as people have creativity, they don’t stop inventing something that is useful for community or for personal use.

As a Filipino, I would say that Filipinos inventions failed due to some reasons particularly the lack of financial budget to make the invention run, lack of government support and encouragement, most Filipinos inclination are into entertainment. There are so many best Filipino Engineers, Nurses, Accountants and Teachers, but where are they now? They use their talent abroad in order to support their individual families in the Philippines. What if all that talents will be merged and be used to invent, create and innovate for the good of their countrymen? We could really feel amazed if that would happen.

Everyone shall think and think for a solution, something to invent such as technology which help for the abundance of our agricultural livelihood, environmental-friendly industrial solutions, technology invention that can help us effectively monitor and detect crimes in our society. Inventions that can help us for good and can help protect the moral of the community people.

With fair, behavior of sharing, humility, passion and unselfishness to serve the community can surely make us grow and productively use everyone’s talent for the benefits of individual and for their children’s children success. Let’s create and invent now that of course environmentally friendly inventions that help protect our Mother Earth because this is the only place in the Planet that provided by God with life and something we have to care. It’s just up to us how to take care this gift and how we can productively improvise it.
